ORIGAMI project
ORIGAMI project
ORIGAMI project is a fundraising group which was formed by caring Japanese mothers who came together through Japanese mother’s communities in Southern and Northern California after the devastating earthquake and tsunami occurred in northern Japan on March 11. 2011.
We are mostly mothers of small children in California and we will be collecting donations at the participating preschools, kindergartens, and primary schools or any organizations to help victims of this earthquake and tsunami disaster.
We are also going to make ORIGAMI necklaces. Origami is a one of the traditional paper craft of Japanese culture and we will provide one for each donor. We are planning to have charity events. For upcoming events, please check our website along with our Facebook.
If you are interested in joining our group, please feel free to contact us. We will accommodate your schedule. If you think about praying for Japan, we think like you! Let’s do this together.
what is Origami project for....
On March 11 at 2:46pm JST a massive 9.0-magnitude earthquake occurred near the northeastern coast of Japan, creating extremely destructive tsunami waves which hit Japan just minutes after the earthquake, and triggering evacuations and warnings across the Pacific Ocean. The earthquake and tsunami have caused extensive and severe damage in Northeastern Japan, leaving thousands of people confirmed dead, injured or missing, and millions more affected by lack of electricity, water and transportation.
